Do The Math

Texas Ranch from Lonestar Steakhouse

Though I'm not certain this is the exact measurements, the following will make a ranch dip that tastes really close to the Texas Ranch dip that comes with the cheese fries at Lonestar Steakhouse.

  • 1 Cup of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

  • 1/2 tablespoon of Chili Powder

  • Dash of Cayenne Pepper

Mix well and serve.   I use the "Spice Time" brand (cheap) Chili Powder & Cayenne Pepper.   For more bite add 1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper.

Gordy's Killer Kielbasa

Gordy, a friend of mine at work, makes this kielbasa that is just awesome.  I got the recipe from him.  I actually didn't believe him when I looked over the ingredients.   I  HATE cranberry sauce, but you'd never know it was in this dish.

  •     1 bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce (12 oz)

  •     1 can of whole cranberry sauce (16 oz)

  •     1 tablespoon of brown sugar

  •     dash of worshire sauce

  •     dash of lemon juice

  •     3 lbs of kielbasa or smoked sausage

  1. Boil the kielbasa for approximately 20 minutes until it is cooked thoroughly.

  2. Mix the Chili Sauce, whole cranberry sauce, brown sugar, worshire sauce, and lemon juice in a crock pot.

  3. Cut the kielbasa into 1 inch pieces and mix them into the crock pot.

  4. Place the crock pot on high for 1 hour then switch to low for another hour, stirring occasionally.

  5. Enjoy

Pizza Crust

Using a bread machine (great invention!)  you can  use the following recipe in a bread machine to make pizza dough.

  •     3/4 Cup Water

  •     2 tablespoons Oil

  •     1 teaspoon salt

  •     2 1/2 cups bread flour

  •     1 teaspoon Quick Rise yeast

  1. Mix together and use "dough" cycle on bread machine.  Will make 1 pizza crust approx 14"

  2. Watch during beginning of mixing cycle.  Make sure dough turns into a "ball."  If it doesn't add more water to the mix.
